Dental Records Scanner

Dental Records Scanner

Since 2014 the Dental Team has been collaborating with a company specialized in scanning devices to bring 3D dental records scanners to the dental studios, on loan for use, thus contributing to the digital conversion of the dental sector.

Our laboratory supplies, and uses directly, different types of dental scanners and workstations that allow to perform structured light readings of manufactures products fixed on 5-axis mobile platforms.

The use of the scanner is simple and easy to understand, in his cabinet, the doctor or his assistant will mount dental record, antagonist and centric wax on the appropriate support at the same time. Once the project has been created and the electronic prescription filled in, it will be enough to start the scan and in about 3 minutes a file will be available which will be automatically sent to the laboratory.

Thanks to the structured light technology it is possible to accurately capture every single detail of the scanned artifacts, these scans produce a cloud of fixed coordinates points that give the technicians a high precision and fully navigable 3D model.

Once the file is received in the laboratory, our specialized technicians are equipped with all the software and devices necessary for the video modeling of the received files from which they can derive the projects for the structures and components required by the doctor in the prescription.

IT IS COMPLETELY ADVANTAGEOUS TO WORK WITH THE TECHNOLOGY…

WHICH PROVIDES THE COMFORT OF USE

  • Scan of dental arches in 1 minute
  • Sending the file in real time, directly to the laboratory
  • No shipping / packaging costs
  • No risk of loss or delay in processing
  • Digital precision

WE SAVE AND ARCHIVE THROUGH THE SOFTWARE INSTALLED IN THE SCANNER:

  • Files in Real Time
  • Patient ID
  • CAD Blueprints
  • Scheduled appointments of the patient necessary for the laboratory
  • Photographs of the patient

AND THESE ARE THE DISADVANTAGES TO WORKING WITHOUT THIS TECHNOLOGY

  • Dental records in alginate deteriorates in a short time
  • Prolonged pause in the laboratory of the dental record tray owned by the professional
  • Use of hydrocolloid-based materials
  • Cost for sending the dental records with the courier
  • Possibility of losing the dental record
  • Possible delays in delivery
  • Possible damage
  • Packaging costs and packaging time
  • Spaces full of boxes and bags
  • Spending on the purchase of metal/plastic spoons
